Description

Kelpamax is made from brown Sea weeds (Ascophyllum nodosum) used as natural Iodine supplementation.
In the Far East and Pacific, there has been a long tradition of consuming Sea weeds as sea vegetables.
Sea weeds are known for their richness in polysacchrides, minerals and certain vitamins.
In comparison with higher plants, the most outstanding feature of Sea weeds , is their high Iodine content.
Edible Seaweeds contain 33-50% total fibres, higher than levels in most higher plants.

Usage

The diversified nutrients of the sea vegetation have accumulated especially into sea weeds. For milleniums people have used sea weeds because of its rich nutrition. The diversified composition makes the sea weeds one of the most valuable nutrient of the vegetable world.

Iodine is a fundamental element of diet since it is important in thyroid hormone biosynthesis. Dietary iodine deficiency can provoke not only thyroid enlargement, but also symptoms and signs of hypothyroidism of various degree, known as ''iodine deficiency disorders'' (IDD). Thus, the iodine supplementation is mandatory.

Since iodine is an essential component of the thyroid hormone molecule, its deficiency during fetal development can cause hypothyroidism and irreversible mental retardation. The full-blown syndrome, called cretinism, includes deaf-mutism, short stature, spasticity, and profound mental retardation.

Not recommended for persons, who have or have had thyroid illness. Not for use during pregnancy.

Dosage

Tablet: 1 tablet a day. One tablet contains 150 µg iodine.
Powder: one knife blade (150 mg = 1/20 teaspoon) mix with water, juices or soups.
