Description

GLUTAMAX® fresh morning contains glutathione derived from torula yeast (Torula utilis), extract of fermented rice and fermented soy bean.
Glutathione (GSH), a tripeptide (glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine), is the most abundant and major low-molecular-weight thiol compound of the living plant or animal cell.
GSH plays very important roles in the metabolism of xenobiotics and carcinogens. It is a principal cellular scavenger of free radicals. The cellular and circulating concentrations of GSH are markers of defensive capability against oxidative stress.
Depletion of GSH impairs the ability of cells to protect against oxidative stress and results in injury or death. Administration of supplemental GSH may allow the detoxication mechanisms to continue protecting cells from injury.
B vitamin deficiencies are common in alcohol misuse and dependence.

Dosage: 2 tablets after the consumption of alcohol.

Two tablets of GLUTAMAX® fresh morning contain the following vitamins being equivalent to 100 % of the RDA:

Vitamin B1.......1,4 mg
Vitamin B2.......1,6 mg
Vitamin B3.......18 mg
Vitamin B5.......4,0 mg
Vitamin B6.......2,2 mg
Vitamin C........60 mg

Usage

Dietary GSH can be absorbed intact and results in a substantial increase in blood plasma GSH. This indicates that oral supplementation is useful to enhance tissue availability of GSH.

Alcohol ingestion is known to produce a variety of metabolic changes and pathologic alterations in the liver, as well as in other tissues.

In chronic alcohol abusers, administration of GSH normalizes the plasma GSH values and improves the plasma indices of oxidative stress.

Chronic alcohol abuse, as well as liver disease, induces a significant decrease of GSH in the liver and in blood, and an increase of diene conjugates and malonaldehyde, which reflect free radical-mediated damage.

Chronic alcohol consumption also increase the activity of the microsomal enzymes in the liver, including the microsomal system that oxidizes alcohol.

During the metabolic process of microsomal ethanol oxidation, the production of free radical species is enhanced and may induce cellular damage, which is counteracted by GSH.
